Teacher Feature: Sue Henshall

Creative ~ Purposeful ~ Calm

Sue found her way to Freeport Yoga Company shortly after moving to Maine in 2015, and has been a diligent student and dedicated teacher ever since. A lifelong learner and career school teacher, Sue brings a rare quality to her classes in that she exudes an excitement about sharing what she knows and practices. When you’re a student in Sue’s classes, you will be exposed to something new, relatable, and interesting. Her passion for the practice is infectious and apparent in every single class she teaches. We are so fortunate to have this gifted and well-loved teacher in this community!

Join Sue every Friday this August at 8am for our Summer in the Park series with LLBean, or back in the studio in September (same day/time) for her popular Morning Flow class.

And now, more about Sue in her own words:

I teach a slow flow vinyasa class based on functional alignment and breath with movement. In each class I offer a handful of specific teaching points that focus on certain actions in postures so students come away from my classes with a deeper understanding of those actions within their own bodies. I sneak in strength work and encourage using props and having fun.

When I am not teaching or in yoga workshops, I can be found exploring beautiful Maine with my husband and our yellow lab and spending time with family and friends. Not a day goes by without a small bite of dark chocolate.
